I have received so much support from my friends and family. Thanks so much! I can't even begin to tell you how much it has ment to me. I am so greatful to have such wonderful people in my life.

I am leaving on Wednesday! That is so crazy! I can't believe that it is really here. But I think this will be my last post but hopefully someone in my family (maybe my mom or my sister in law) will keep this updated so you can all hear about my time as a missionary.... but I wont know about your lives so you should write me!

Called to Serve

On Wednesday June 23rd I received a large white envelope from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

As my family and friends were gathered I read:

Dear Sister Katie Jean Koford: You are herby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the Tennessee Nashville Mission. It is anticipated that you will serve for a period of 18 months. You Should report to the Provo Missionary Training Center on Wednesday September 15, 2010...

I am so greatful for this opportunity that I have to serve. I pray that I will be able to find those that are looking for the gospel and answers in their life. I hope that I will be able to teach them about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I love the Lord and I am so happy to be sharing His gospel!

This semester I had to do a lot of projects. One of my favorite projects I had to do was for my advanced sewing class (I love sewing!) I had to make a suit coat then design a skirt to go with it. The back is my favorite :D

I have a boyfriend Pretty exiting! We started dating about a week ago. His name is Harold. His favorite color is orange. He is so strong. I love going to the gym to watch him work out. We love swiming. This might be a promising relationship I think he might be perfect!

ok ok.... so maybe i'm not dating anyone.... but my sister in law, Shell, found the perfect boy and since i'm lacking a boyfriend she set us up!

My sister in law Emily had a baby boy named Connor last tuesday. I got to see him for the first time on friday. He is so cute and little. He is so cuddly. I already miss not holding that cute little guy! One more month till I get to see him. Oh I love being an aunt! And I get to be an aunt again in August! I can't wait!

Suit Coat

I am currently in an advanced sewing class at Utah State. One of the projects was to make a tailored project. I made a suit coat, it will have a matching skirt (once I design it).

This project took so much time! I felt like I lived at the sewing lab. But I got it done!

Spring Break

Yeah its a little late to be writting about sping break... but is was so much fun! so i'm still going to write about it!

So Holly and I went to Disney land! The roads were kinda bad on the way down but the weather was amazing when we go to California. It was so nice being able to wear shorts. Most of our pictures together you can't see where we are... cuz we don't have a personal photographer to follow us around to take pictures (yet). Well I had a ton of fun and loved it!

Valentines Party

Today we had a roommate Valentine party. We made personal heart shaped pizza, pink lemonade, pink pasta, garlic bread, and salad. We ate it on Valentine cups and plates. It was very festive! We had so much fun making our food and taking pictures.

The weekend!

I had such a fun weekend! It started out on Friday I went to a movie with Holly for one of her classes. It was way funny, it was called spellbound and it looked like they might have spent $100 on it... and that was just because of the air fair. After Holly, Jess, and I got arby's, ate ice cream and watched movies!

On Saturday, Holly and I went to the USU basketball game against Nevada. It was such a good game! And we won! After the game we ran home so Holly could go home. When we got back my roommates convinced me to go to mardi gras. It was so much fun to get ready! We all painted our faces! When we got back I was really hungry because I didn't eat dinner... or really lunch. So at about 1:53 I decided that I was going to make pancakes. I had raspberry syrup and whip cream on them, they were so good!

On Sunday at church my roommates decided we should go to Layton to watch the Superbowl. So after church I made chocolate chip cookies and we went down there. We surprised Jenni's family that we were there. It was way fun and the food was way good.

So that was my good weekend.... now back to school.

So life is good at school. I absolutely love Logan. I wanted to put something on this but nothing really is happening... I'm just going to school. But whenever anyone new walks into my apartment they make a comment about how much food we have. So here it is.... Our food!

so the end of summer is just about here. I'm way excited to move back to logan and go back to school but i'm getting kinda stressed. I don't feel as prepared as i was last year. and i have no time to get ready cuz i'm going to bear lake today get back saturday go to lagoon monday and move tuesday. but i don't feel like its even all my fault because one of my classes doesn't even have a time yet it just says TBA! that is so dumb classes start in just over a week it can't be TBA... i need to know. ok sorry that was a little dramatic but i do hope i found out soon.

I did 3 weeks of being an efy counselor... and i LOVED it! it was so much fun, and such a great experiance. i loved going as a particapant but it is also so great to go and help youth to feel the spirt and to learn more about the gospel. i loved seeing how they grew over just being at efy for a week... so great!

St. George

I went to St. George about a week and a half ago. I was down there for almost a week before my parents came and just stayed at my grandma's house. It was fun to see my cousins and some of their kids play baseball. When my family came down we went on a hike and just hung out. My trip wasn't the most exciting thing ever but it was nice to have a break and not have to worry about anything.

Well i made it through my first year of college! I didn't realize how much stuff i had! I felt like i just kept packing and packing. I was worried that it wasn't all going to fit in the car... but it did :) I just need to get everything moved back into my room. So i like being home but i miss my roommates.

Finals Week!

yeah this week will mostly just consist of studying test taking and packing (oh and getting dumped last night). I have my first final today. Its the one that i'm most concerned about it so it will be way nice when it is over.

I can't wait till friday cuz i'll be home!

I'm having such a great day today! My English class was canceled so that was really nice! I had work today... it wasn't the best day at work. I had a ton of rooms to clean and high schoolers were there so the rooms were REALLY bad but i survived lol. After work i went and found my new advisor and talked to her. It made me really excited about my major. She is a really sweet lady and was way happy that i'm changing my major. I'm excited for the classes i'll be taking they will be so much fun! I just hope that all the classes i need won't be full by the time i get my major changed (they wont let me sign up for the classes yet cuz they don't think poli sci students need to take those classes lol).

Tonight my roomates all went out to eat at wingers! It was tons of fun! It was a fun way to end the semester cuz i don't think we will all hang out again before the semester gets over. Right now we are all just waiting and then we are going to go see a movie! After we are going to go to a dance and true aggie night! How exciting!

So ture aggie night was fun they had a big dance party and we all had tons of fun dancing! There were so many poepl there. Someone proposed on the A it was cute :)

The semester is coming to an end. I’m excited for school to be out but I’ll miss all my friends. Hopefully I will be able to hang out with them over the summer.

I talked to my boss today and I’m going to be able to have the summer off and still have a job when I come back in the fall! Now I just need a job for the summer.

So I guess I should get back to my homework…sigh.

Housing

I'm so excited I found where I'm going to live next year! Apartment hunting can be hard but we found one we liked and it looks really nice. When you walk in there is the kitchen and living room, it will be so nice not having the hall of death when you walk into the apartment. I got a call from the guy today and he said that we are going to be on the first floor. It was way exciting hearing from him cuz it means we really have a place to live next year--what a releif! I'm really excited it should be a lot of fun! And I'm ready for a change. :) I hope everything works out.

college?

So isn't college life suppose to be fun full of excitement and always doing fun things and hangining out with friends???? Well thats what i thought... but i guess i thought wrong! Nothing exciting is happening! I don't even know how to get something exciting to happen i spent forever today just trying to think of something to do. But i failed so i didn't do anything! :( I feel like something is missing... there needs to be something more. but i don't even know what. I guess i could just spend all my time focused on school... and i guess i should (but its hard). Well so that is basically my life... its depressing.

Snowboarding

I just went snowboarding!!! I had so much fun! This is my second time to go but it was the first time using my board and my boots so that was fun! The snow when we got there was all packed and icy but while we were there it snowed about 8 inches! The powder was so much fun! I wish someone would have been there to take a picture of all the snow kicking up behind me. It was really hard to see cuz it was snowing pretty hard and I don't have goggles. But I survived and had a ton of fun! Now I have to try to do my homework... but I'm sore and I just want to go to bed.

Car

I want a car so bad! I have made it a while without one and I can't do it anymore! I am determined to get a car. Today on the internet i found a way good deal on a really nice car... but it was sold in just a few hours from when i first saw it. Looking at cars reminds me of when i would go to car shows when i was little. I remember climbing in the drivers seat and dreaming about the day the i could drive... now i can drive and i'll i'm missing is a car.

Presidents Day

I'm home for the weekend and its been a ton of fun! On Saturday I got to go to the Draper temple open house. It is such a beautiful temple and the spirit was so strong. Going there made me realize that I wont get maried anywhere besides the temple. If I'm going to marry someone I want to be with them for eternity!

my busy life

I decided that I'm going to major in Family and Consumer Science Education. I'm excited I think that it will be a ton of fun. I can't wait for next semester so i can start taking those classes. My classes are going good... better than last semester :) My International Politics class is really hard and all the tests and quizes are essays. But overall school is going to good.

I have had a ton of fun up here. I went snowboarding for my first time and that was so much fun. I get to go again with my ward next month and I can't wait.

Logan

I love Logan in the fall. I love all the colors on the trees. I love the fresh crisp air even though going to a class at 7:00 with the air blowing out of the canyon it is really cold. Cemeteries no longer bother me...in fact I enjoy walking through the cemetery admiring the beautiful leaves. The Logan cemetery is one of the coolest cemeteries that I have been to there are so many cool head stones that are really old. But I think the crying lady is pretty scary to walk by in the dark (why would you put a life size statue of a crying lady for a headstone any way?) Well so basically I just love to live in Logan. I don't know if I want to live here forever but I love it now while I'm going to college. (but sometimes I do wish it was warmer)

Homecoming

Last friday I went to homecoming with Rob. It was so much fun i loved it. It was fun to go dress shopping. I loved my dress but it got sparkles all over everything including rob. It was so cute he gave me roses when he came and got me. The dance was fun. They had the dance in like 4 different rooms 3 had different live bands and one had a dj. the dance was prob the funnest dance i had ever been too.

This last week i came home twice. My mom came and got me on Thursday to attend the 4-H awards dinner where i recived the "4-H salute to Excellence Youth Award." I came back to school on friday cuz i had a test in political science and i had work. One of my friends had come up to to the football game so after the game i rode home with her. Because i was home i could watch conference with my family. I loved watching general conference. I'm so grateful that there is a prophet on the earth that leads and guides us. I feel that so much they said was for me and i hope i will be able to act and be a better person.
So today is monday and i am once again back at school. I don't know the next time i'll come home because of work.
Well i'll keep writing about my exciting life that really isn't that exciting lol

college life

I am loving college life. My math class is at 7:30 so that is really hard to get up early after staying up till like 1 or 2 the night before. But it is nice to be done with classes early i'm done before noon everyday but then i just usually come home and take a nap...so maybe next semester i'll have my classes be latter. This last weekend was one of the funnest weekends i have had in a while. some friends came up from fillmore and snow college. I got 2 hours of sleep on friday and saturday nights. On friday a big group of us went to angies and cleaned 3 sinks (its eating a "sink" of icecream) it was tons of fun! On saturday night some of my roommates and i went out to eat together it was tons of fun and we had a lot of laughs. Sometimes it feels like this is a soap opera but so far i've survied so that is good.
